Preparing for your visit

  • Wear comfortable, loose clothing that may be adjusted or moved aside for the treatment. Gowns, cover-sheets and towels are provided.
  • Please avoid wearing perfumes/scents; some of our patients and staff are sensitive to these.
  • Make sure you have eaten a light meal at least an hour prior to your appointment.  Please, no fasting bellies. You need Qi for the treatment to better move and balance your Qi.
  • Avoid rigorous exercise just prior to and after your appointment.
  • Bring a list of all your current medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements, with correct dosages and reason for taking them.
  • New patients: please bring your completed Initial Visit Health History form . I can send/email/fax this to you once you have scheduled your appointment. Please come early to complete this form if you do not receive it in time. (7 pages, ~ 20 minutes to complete)
  • Bring your method of payment: cash, credit/debit card, or check.  I use SQUARE for cards (credit, debit, Flex Spending Account, and Health Savings Account).
  • For Worker's Compensation or Motor Vehicle Injury claims, please bring your claim number/authorization.
  • AFTER VISIT.  It is best to give time for the treatment to work.  Avoid strenuous exercise, sex, hot tubs, and large meals after your treatment.
  • Savor the "Acu-Zone". Acupuncture creates a parasympathetic reset, so feeling relaxed and a little spacey is common.  Please be alert and cautious driving home.
  • Hydrate, preferably with a warm beverage such as an herbal tea or warm water.
